Back in 2009, I found myself reflecting on a few fond memories, special moments shared with different people in my life; and I thought to myself, “Wouldn't it be nice if I actually shared these memories on Facebook, but without mentioning any names, and let my friends work out for themselves if they're the one I shared the particular memory with, like a fun appreciation game?” Then I thought, “What about the nice memories of an ex-friend?” which led me to the question, “Why limit it to just my friends on Facebook?”
I realized that, regardless of our age, race, sex or creed, all the different people we encounter are constantly influencing and enriching our life experiences. These encounters, even the seemingly brief or insignificant ones, are what memories are made of; the kind of memories that have the power (even after many years) to make you smile or laugh, and in some cases, have been life-changing moments.
This site is a way of sharing happy memories and showing appreciation to specific people for the memory they have left us with. It's a way of reaching out to people without necessarily having to be “friends” with them on a social networking site or having ANY contact with them at all!
Whether the memory is about someone you've known for a second, a season or a lifetime, this is a way of letting them know that the shared moment meant something, and that the way in which they've touched our lives has not gone un-noticed. So, please feel free to join me in sharing a memory today!
